They can step in and out the physical world in their spirit forms by jumping in and out of wild mushroom circles, dubbed fairy circles in folklore, as if they were portals to another side. Humans jumping through such circles have no effect and thus the circles are not considered aberrational.
This seems phrased a little weirdly. I’d suggest changing the last sentence of this paragraph to “Hoewever, humans can’t interact with them in the way the aberrant can.”
It is believed that the Salem Witch Trials may have been started in part by Borean influence in the New England area.
Yes. Love this. Wayward needs more ties to the real world like this. (My personal little schpeal don’t mind me.)
From research, they most likely stop feeding because they tire of the same "taste" of emotions.
What kind of research?
Also, as for the entire point about the giant man and how the outfit took notice of him, it seems a little bit by coincidence they suddenly suspected that particular missing persons report out of the thousands of others that potentially exist that they could have taken interest in. I think it needs a stronger reason to go in that direction. Not a big deal, though.
oreans operate in Newfoundland and Quebec in Eastern Canada, across New England, and exist in pockets of the Appalachians. Some can also be found in Spanish influenced Florida, and some locales of the Mississippi Delta. Very few reports have come out of Mexico, but it is believed they may be some form of cryptid instead.
Why only in these places? From what I could gather from the description it seems reasonable for these things to appear in places where mushrooms could grow. Perhaps you could mention they can be found anywhere where people are (because they would want a diverse range of emotions to feed off of), but they have been noticed to appear in some places in particular and they have strangely appeared in some remote places despite an outsider not seeing why they would even bother with those remote places.
In particular, the Sack outfit's shaman, One-eye
Yay it’s our first hoodoo magicka person.
The moment of success came on a whim when she followed the customs of European folklore and offered several Snickers bars at wild mushroom fairy circles near the wilds of eastern Kentucky, around the Jackson area.
Snicker bars. Kek. Nothing wrong with that, just found that to be an odd little detail.
Eagleman's face is visible on the screen. He is a black male with stubble and piercing hazel eyes. He looks directly down at the camera with a whimsical look.]
I don’t know if this level of detail is necessary.
I have nothing to say about the first four encounter logs except that I liked them. Try to seek critique from one more versed in pointing out flaws in dialogue than I am. I just maybe a have a problem with how the Borean as introduced as a “stranger”. I just think that the outfit should have been instantly been able to pick up he was a Borean as it was obvious considering all the details you left about them earlier in the article like how about how they’re very tall and wear clothes weirdly.
I like how the fifth encounter log is executed, but then again, I’m not the best a dialogue.
Sorry I couldn’t give much more. I’m not that big into picking apart literature.
